The Cougars took advantage of seven hits, eight walks, two hit batsmen and two Scarlet Raptor errors in the opening game as they posted an 8-1 victory.

He advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single to right by senior left fielder Eric Ammirata (Hamilton, N.J.). Following a pair of walks to load the bases, Moceri hit a sacrifice fly to make it a 2-0 game. Senior Dan Mattonelli (Hamilton, N.J.) rounded out the scoring in the inning with an RBI single.
