Gwaltney, Williams Named ECAC All-Stars

Senior Jay Gwaltney and junior Jamahl Williams were named Eastern College Athletic Conference South Football All-Stars, as voted on by the head coaches and announced by the ECAC on Friday afternoon.Gwaltney set a pair of single-season rushing records this season, as he finished with 1,412 yards on 254 rushing attempts. Through the course of the season, he posted seven straight games of 100 or more yards rushing, including four straight contests with at least 200 yards rushing.

A New Jersey Athletic Conference first-team all-star and a D3football.com East Region third-team honoree, Gwaltney led the conference and finished the season ranked eighth in the nation in rushing average (141.2 yards per game).

Williams repeats as an ECAC all-star at safety, as he ranked first in the NJAC and tied for seventh in the country in interceptions per game (0.80). A three-time NJAC all-star, his eight picks were the second most in single season history, giving him 15 in his career to move him into second place in career history. Williams also earned D3football.com East Region second-team honors for the second straight season.

The Cougars posted their fifth straight non-losing season for the first time in program history, after finishing 5-5 overall, 5-4 in the NJAC. Three of the team's losses came at the hands of teams that advanced at least to the second round of the NCAA tournament, including Wesley College who is playing in the NCAA semifinals this weekend.
