Kean University has an abundance of creative and artistic students. The campus and community provide a variety of outlets for artists to express themselves and discover their passions.

Art Over All was founded in 2017, and their goal is to provide a supportive community for creative students. Art Over All is the perfect safe space for artists to meet other artists, socialize, learn, and be their authentic selves.

“My favorite thing about being the president of Art Over All is creating a world for people to explore themselves and create their own worlds, like the one I needed and had when I was younger,” said Eric Soares, president of Art Over All.

If students are interested in the club, Art Over All meets weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:15 p.m. For more information, students can email the organization at artoverallclub@gmail.com

Kean Aesthetics is new to Kean University and was founded in December 2022. The club values self-expression and individuality regarding passion for art and all its forms.

“We want to gather students who have a passion [for] any creative field. They get to explore different forms of creative expression along with everyone's unique way of doing it,” said  Kendallee Anyosa, president of Kean Aesthetics.

According to Cougar Link, Kean Aesthetics aims to gather students who have a passion for art, design, fashion, beauty, and all things creative and provide them with a platform to showcase their abilities. Kean Aesthetics promotes its love for creative expression through meetings, events, and open-minded discussions. Interested students should look out for their upcoming meeting on Friday, April 21, at 3:30 p.m. in the Center for Academic Success, Room 250.

425 Magazine is a student-run magazine at Kean that values creativity and prioritizes students by giving them a platform to share their work. 425 Magazine is open for submissions which they promote on their Instagram and in their magazine.

Writers who want to submit their work can file a submission form for the magazine. Students can also speak to the organization at one of their meetings. The next meeting will be on Monday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m. in the Green Lane Academic Building, Floor Studio A.

“Top Knotch is a majorette team that performs at special events, including football and basketball games,” said Kean University’s Top Knotch on Cougar Link.

Kean University’s Top Knotch is a club for dancers to show off their skills. The organization also partakes in hosting its events and supporting others on campus. Although auditions were conducted in February, students can get updates for open spots through their Instagram and Cougar Link pages.

The clubs and organizations highlighted in this article are just a few outlets Kean has to support students and their creative endeavors. Whether the passion aligns with art, music, or dance, there is always a space for students to express themselves.
