On Saturday, December 10, 2011, Arco Ensemble will debut their show "An Arco Holiday". It is hosted by Kean Stage and will take place in the beautiful Enlow Recital Hall. Arco Ensemble is the only string chamber orchestra that has the honor of performing at Kean University. Different string instruments will bathe people in a wonderland of music catering to the winter holidays.
Arco Ensemble was founded by Victoria Stewart, a violinist who has preformed solo music, chamber music, symphonic, and opera performances. Stewart also holds a position on the Kean University Concert Artist faculty. Bruce Hangen -- world renowned conductor -- will be conducting the performance on the tenth of December. Hangen is the director of the orchestra, orchestral activities, and conducting programs at the Boston Conservatory.
Students are encouraged to see the Arco Ensemble, for it is said to be a festive spectacular that will awaken everyone's holiday spirit. Plus, with the stresses of finals, a nice musical break from all the studying is sure to help concentration and focus better. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and concludes at 10:30 p.m. Enlow Recital Hall is located on East Campus. Tickets are $25 each. Students can buy these tickets at the Box Office in Wilkins Theatre.
