Jenesis Conde is a senior information technology major and a member of Chi Upsilon Sigma. Conde said that her sorority is "very involved with the community and hosts a lot of events on campus."

Chi Upsilon Sigma, the first independent Latin sorority, was founded in 1980 at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. According to JustBeCUS.org, Chi Upsilon Sigma is an organization that was founded on "integrity, respect, and accountability". Conde believes that Chi Upsilon Sigma is a sorority full of strong and independent women who crave to teach values like respect, honor, and pride to their community.

Conde said that she decided to pursue membership in Chi Upsilon Sigma because she "loved what they stood for; the sisterhood and the programs that they were pursuing".

"One thing that I always loved about my sisters is that we are professional and respectful, but we also know how to have fun," said Conde. "We are also very dedicated to volunteering and assisting on campus as well."

Her favorite aspect of being a sorority sister is the ability to "bring something different to campus through our events and activities. I love being involved on campus!" Conde's interest in being involved is evident, as she has been a part of Kean Dance and is a secretary of the Greek senate e-board. She also works in the game room located within the University Center. "I love working in the game room," Conde said. "It's a lot of fun. I really like to meet new people and be a part of the University Center. The game room is always exciting and full of people."

Conde decided that she originally wanted to go to Kean University because she was interested in a mathematics program. However, she changed her major from mathematics to information technology because she has newly-sparked interest in technology and working with the web. Conde enjoys working with computers; however, her passion is working with cameras. "Photography has always been one of my biggest passions," Conde stated. "I love working with Photoshop and editing pictures."

She decided to continue her education at Kean after changing her major because she loved the diversity and atmosphere on campus.

After Conde graduates, she would love to create programs that will help the community. "I love working with girls and mentoring them, it's another one of my passions," Conde said. "I would really like to combine my interests in programming and mentoring to create something that could benefit women in the future."

Another of Conde's hobbies is practicing and studying Puerto Rican folk dancing, a style of dance that she has practiced since she was seven years old.

When asked why she believed she was chosen to be featured for Greek of the Week, Conde said that "I'm very involved and dedicated to Kean and my sorority. I love my sorority with all of my heart," Conde said proudly. "We are a small organization and there aren't a lot of us, but we are a family."
