Kean University Recycling Program
Status Report - February 2007
Issue date: 2/12/07 Section: Campus News
Phase 1 has been completed.
Paper recycling bins have been placed in all offices throughout campus. A three-bin grouping for bottles and cans, paper and general trash, have been placed throughout the hallways all over campus.
Large bottle and can bins have been placed throughout campus grounds and parking areas.
If your office has been missed due to the inability of the maintenance staff to place the bin, please send an e-mail to the program coordinator at squaterm@kean.edu with the building name, room number and your name, as well as times when the office is open.
Phase 2 is under way.
This portion of the program is focused on the residence halls and is due to be completed by the end of February.
Bins for the separation of bottles and cans as well as paper will be placed in trash areas or other designated rooms on each floor of each residence hall. Students are required to provide their own receptacles in their rooms to separate trash from recyclables.
Training for the Office of Residence Life and administrators and staff has been completed.
The recycling program is an ongoing process that will continue to occur on campus. With your help and cooperation the program will be a success. The formal program/policy document explaining this program, along with some other helpful and educational materials, is available on the Web site at www.kean.edu/fehs.
