Beyruti Tabbed NJAC Player of the Week

PITMAN, N.J. (2/19/07) -Sophomore guard Melissa Beyruti (Union City, N.J.) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Beyruti earns NJAC Player of the Week honors for the third time this season after averaging 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game in a pair of conference victories which wrapped up a perfect 8-0 record against NJAC South Division competition for Kean.
She first tallied 13 points, three rebounds and five steals in the Cougars' 79-66 conference win over Rowan. She wrapped up the regular season by notching 17 points, three rebounds, and three assists in Kean's 82-72 NJAC road win at Rutgers-Camden. In the Camden victory, she set the Kean career record for three-point field goals made (153) as just a sophomore, breaking the old record of 152 set by Kellie Rice.
Beyruti currently leads the NJAC in scoring with an average of 18.0 points per game.
