Welcome to the 2007-2008 academic year at Kean, a time of promise and optimism at our University. Your arrival at Kean takes place at a time when the University stands at the threshold of greatness. Together, with your involvement and participation, we can reach new heights.

During the upcoming academic year, you will witness further development on our campus. We will begin construction on two new residence halls and complete an addition to the Nancy Thompson Library. For the first time ever, our main campus is connected to our east campus, which will serve as the home of the Nathan Weiss Graduate College once renovations are completed in 2008. With the exception of the campus school facilities, Kean University is completely wireless, allowing you to connect to the Internet from any location on campus. It is an exciting time to join our community and I am positive you will be impressed with the direction we are heading.

I urge you to become an active participant in your new community. Go to a show in Wilkins Theater. Join thousands of your fellow students and Kean alumni in celebrating Homecoming. Come out and root for your Cougar baseball team, the 2007 National Champions. Join a student group. The opportunities for you to expand your horizons while at Kean University are endless.

On a final note, I am certain that you will see me walking the grounds of our gorgeous campus. Please take a moment to introduce yourself and feel free to share your experiences with me. I wish you luck during the upcoming year and throughout your time at Kean.
