All organizations represented themselves with enthusiasm and professionalism. Great relationships among Greeks are needed to establish a strong community. Kean University's Local, Historically Black, National, Latin, International, and Multicultural organizations set the example on diversity. The fraternities and sororities participated in the strolling and stepping exhibition. Strolling and Stepping at Kean is a traditional form for the organizations to express themselves. A few fraternities which made their presence known in this exhibition were Sigma Lambda Beta, Beta Kappa Psi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Psi Sigma Phi. A few sororities which also made their presences known were Lambda Theta Alpha, Chi Upsilon Sigma, and Lambda Tau Omega. The whole musical environment, provided by DJ Nix, Kean's favorite DJ, always keeps everyone entertained.
Students joining or interested in joining organizations are encourage to do research before making quick decisions based on appearance. Ask questions regarding the direction of an organization. Organizations are strong solely based on the brothers or sisters who support and represent them. Make your decision based on the people who represent the org, as well as the ideology of the organization name or its Greek letters, colors, and purpose. The past and present actions of any organizations all affect the organizations future.
Being Greek is about aspiring for a better purpose. Ignoring the stereotype, Greeks are normally active participants in campus activities. They provide spirited enthusiasm to their organization as well as their school whom they represent. Chanting, Organization colors, and Greek letters are just traditional ways that represent Pride and past accomplishments. If you look under the Greek persona, you would see motivated and accomplished students, graduates, and professionals in their individual character. Greeks are not just students. They are also your friends, peers, and faculty.
