The Center for Academic Success, coordinated by Jacqueline Victorero acts as a haven for struggling students. The Tutoring and Learning Support Services Center (TLS) is located on the first floor in room 124. Many students become exasperated or shrug off the thought of tutoring. However, tutoring at Kean University is free of charge and there for you when you are in need. Whether it is a course you are struggling in or a few worries about an upcoming test, TLS. is there for you.

In order to see a tutor, you must make an appointment. To make a appointment, you can either stop by the CAS building or simply go on-line and sign up using TutorTrac. Tutoring hours are extremely flexible and can coordinate with your daily schedule. Tutoring is available daily, Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m to 10:30 p.m. If these hours still do not work for you, TLS provides services on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m and Saturday from 9:30 a.m to 3:30 p.m.

TLS specializes in whatever subject you seem to be having trouble with. If you just can't figure out that math problem, don't know who signed what document in what year, or just need a little help on a science test, TLS can help! Tutoring is open to any student, for any subject, in any year. The help is there, the rest is up to you. If you feel uncomfortable about signing up by yourself you can always have a friend sign up with you. Not only can a group tutoring session help you feel more comfortable, but it will give you a better grasp on how to study with your peers and absorb the information rather than be distracted.

Some of the tutors actually sit in some of the classes, therefore the tutoring session is like a re-run episode of whatever went on in class. This can help with memorization and may be able to clear up things you didn't understand before. Tutoring can be a great learning experience and a fabulous use of your time if you give it a chance. You will be surprised at the improvement that will take place in your grades and on your tests. If at any time you don't feel you want or need the tutoring you can stop at any time. Your future is in your hands.

The Tutoring and Learning Support Services Center understands that every student learns differently. As a result, TLS offers group tutoring sessions and individual sessions as well. As if this program couldn't get any better, TLS now offers a writing workshop. Students can sign up for the writing workshop for help with writing assignments for any class they happen to be struggling in. The Tutoring and Learning Support Services has so much to offer to you.

College is extremely important. Don't let pride, lack of time, or other excuses get in the way of your future. Go to the Center for Academic Success and give tutoring a try. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
