Part of Kean University's mission of offering a world-class college experience is the presentation of world-class performances through Kean Stage. Each year, Kean Stage offers a variety of different performances, showcases, and plays of all kinds to bring students and members of the community to Kean for their enjoyment. These showcases take place around campus in one of Kean's many theatres.

When entering and navigating the ups and downs of college life, it is important to have resources available to students that help with the lows and celebrate the highs. The Kean University Counseling Center is a place that is available to all Kean students. It is included with tuition and the counselors are qualified to assist students with anything they may need help with.

Hosted by Student Organization, the sophomore class, the junior class and P.U.L.S.E, Kean Karnival took place Monday, April 29 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the Miron Student Center (MSC) Patio. The event was filled with music, carnival games, food and activities for students to enjoy right before the finals season hits.

In being a hub for cultural and individual diversity, Kean University has a wide range of cultural organizations, including one of the newest organizations, PRISM. PRISM is a group for members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community to come together and feel they have a safe space and are represented on campus.

The Kean University Leadership Institute is known to both train, mentor and provide the student leaders on campus. They take in underclassmen and throughout their four-year program create the university's best student leaders who reach great heights. Shelsea Araujo is a Kean freshman in the Leadership Institute who is on her way to achieving great accomplishments and finding her way in the Kean community.

Zijia Abigail Zhou, better known as Abigail, is an exchange student from Wenzhou-Kean (WKU) who has dived straight into involving and submerging herself in everything the Main Campus in Union, NJ has to offer. In only her first semester here, she has become a member of Wenzhou-Kean University Student Association, been hired to work with the Involvement Center and volunteered at multiple student community service projects like Alternative Spring Break and Community Food Bank.

Kean University's main campus allows students to explore new experiences through the study abroad partnership with Wenzhou-Kean's campus, and Wenzhou-Kean University (WKU) students get to study here on the Main Campus in Union, NJ to experience America's offerings. One student who has been able to study here at Main Campus and make the most of everything Kean University has to offer is Biqi Zhou, better known as Maggie. Zhou is a global business major from Wenzhou-Kean in her second semester studying here at Main Campus.

The Pan African Student Union will be hosting Black Love Thursday, March 21 on the Sixth Floor of the STEM Building from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. This event will be an opportunity for students and the Kean community to come together to learn about, embrace and celebrate black culture.

To honor those of Kean University who celebrate Lent, the Catholic Newman Club and the Office of Campus Ministry will be offering meatless food options for students every Friday lasting through April 12. Beginning March 22 in the Miron Student Center, Room 226, the event is an opportunity for students partaking in Lent to enjoy meatless food options and commune about how their Lent is going.

The month of March is dedicated every year to International Women's History Month, a month for remembering and honoring the historical and influential female figures throughout history and those around us in the modern day. To commemorate the beginning of International Women's History Month, Kean University, Student Organization and P.U.L.S.E. hosted the Women's History Month Kickoff to start off a month of events in commemoration women. This year Women's History Month's theme is Visionary Women: Champions of Peace and Nonviolence, referring to generations of women who fought to end war, violence and injustice.

The Human Rights Institute declared the week of Feb. 25 through March 1 as Say Something Week. This week was designed to educate the Kean community on issues like bullying, bystanding and exclusion. The hope was for students to understand how their actions affect others and how the signs that something could be dangerous to an individual or the community may present themselves.

The Leadership Institute's Silver Leadership Program will be hosting a fashion show at Miron Student Center (MSC) Little Theater Wednesday, April 10 at 8 p.m. to help raise funds for the Children's Specialized Hospital. Every year the Leadership Institute asks its Silver level leaders to create an original event that they will plan, create and host. Through this event, students will gain skills in communication, cooperation and common purpose while supporting the Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, New Jersey.

One Billion Rising was an event held in the Center for Academic Success (CAS) First Floor Feb. 14, in response to the shocking statistics that state 1 in 3 women will be beaten or raped during their lifetime. On average, over one billion women on the planet experience abuse of some sort. Thus, One Billion Rising started on Valentine's Day in 2012 as a call to action against violence toward women.

Involvement Week was a chance for students to be interactive with the campus community, meet new people and learn about the opportunities they have available to them. A series of events were scheduled by the Involvement Center to get students to enjoy fun events, get information and explore their personal wellness. Held every semester, Involvement Week falls right around the third week of the semester. Typically around this time student involvement begins to subside. The Involvement Center uses Involvement Week to combat this and gain student interest in the options available to them.

As one of the most diverse public universities in the state, Kean has many different events and programs dedicated to celebrating Black History Month. The first of these events was the Black History Month Flag Raising Ceremony and Kickoff.

What differentiates these experiences is what students choose to do with their time in university. Being involved in a variety of clubs and organizations makes a student feel connected to their campus community and helps with different aspects of their career. Kean University's Student Health Services works to make sure students are living healthy life styles and making smart choices when it comes to their sexual health. A new initiative Kean is putting into action is the offering of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). Through a collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health PrEP counselor program and Trinitas Early Intervention Program, Kean is looking to offer ways for students to start the process of obtaining this medication.

Every year the Center for Leadership and Service encourages students to get involved with volunteer opportunities. An exciting volunteer project hosted each spring semester is Alternative Spring Break. This is a four day overnight community service project trip that gives students the opportunity to do more than relax over their spring break, but give back to the community and to those who are in need. It is also a time for students to bond and forge new relationships with others who share a passion for volunteerism.
