In a joint-effort with Kean Earth Science Club, New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability (NJHEPS), and Kean School of Environmental and Sustainability Sciences (SESS), the Lesniak Institute for American Leadership hosted the second annual "Let's Clear The Air: A Student-Led Symposium" Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. to help promote environmental advocacy in New Jersey.
Baba Neil Clarke, a percussionist who has played with distinguished figures such as Randy Weston and Harry Belafonte in the past, visited Kean Nov. 13 to give an educational lecture and performance in the Miron Student Center (MSC) Little Theatre.

On Friday, Nov. 9, Kean held their Veteran's Day Ceremony at the Miron Student Center (MSC) Room 226 to commemorate the men and women who have served the United States, as well as their families.
President Dawood Farahi has pledged to award any first semester Kean student who came in with a freshman merit scholarship and earns a 4.0 GPA. This award will take the form of a $100 gift card to Ursino Steakhouse and Tavern, located in the STEM building.

On Nov. 13, students across Kean University's campus celebrated World Kindness Day and Community Values Day. This allowed students to appreciate all acts of kindness, no matter how big or small. Students were also able to become educated about the resources on campus that they can utilize to their advantage. Organizations such as the Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Task Force (AToD) and the Commuter Resource Center (CRC) held events to help students celebrate this joyous day.
On Monday, Nov. 26, the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) will be hosting a service trip to the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home in Edison, New Jersey. From 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., students will be providing essential companionship to veterans.
The Latin American Student Organization (LASO), formerly known as the Association of the Latin American Students (ALAS), is making its way through Kean University. Just like many other cultural clubs on campus, LASO seeks to provide awareness and knowledge of the Latin culture to the students willing to learn.
This past Monday, Nov. 12, Helping Younger Hands held an event called Know Your Ribbon, which focused on educating students on different awareness ribbons. Participants were then able to design their own ribbon for themselves about subjects that are most important to them.
On Tuesday, Nov. 27 in the STEM Building, the Holocaust Resource Center will host a new lecture in the Murray Pantier Memorial Scholar Lecture Series discussing French Jewish history. "Who Owns French Jewish History? The Strange Story of Zosa Szajkowski, Archive Salvager, Historian and Thief" is a presentation by Professor Lisa Moses Leff, author and acting director of academic affairs and senior vice provost at American University.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit housing organization whose goal is to provide every person with a decent living space. The Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) creates service trips to assist in the efforts of the Habitat for Humanity organization by building homes for people who struggle with homelessness.
During a holiday season which encourages sitting together for a meal with loved ones, some people are not able to have this luxury. On Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Student Organization at Kean University hosted the Food Bank Luncheon at the Cougar's Den in the Miron Student Center (MSC).
The College of Liberal Arts' second annual Dean for a Day took place Thursday, Nov. 1. This year’s selection was Catherine Lenahan who took on Acting Dean Jonathan Mercantini’s responsibilities for a day while Mercantini attended her classes as a student.
Filipinos Uniting Nations at Kean (FUNK) is a cultural organization that works to unite the Kean Filipino community, as well as uniting all nationalities and ethnicities on campus. While focusing on the Filipino student community at Kean, FUNK is open to all students regardless of ethnicity.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, Kyle Kreske and Gabriella Lapointe were officially introduced as homecoming king and queen respectively to the Kean community during the homecoming half time show.
Helping Younger Hands is a new organization at Kean University that is centered around raising awareness and educating students on disabilities, disorders and abuse, especially as they pertain to children. This organization believes in helping those who may not have the resources or ability to help themselves.
The Leadership Institute will be hosting a series of workshops to help students in preparations for their career goals. The Chapter After Workshops Series consists of three workshops. The three workshops are: How to Find the Right Internships, Build A Better Resume and the Seniors Tell All.
