COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. (2/7/09) - The Kean University men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the Frank Colden Invitational on Saturday afternoon, as the men's team finished seventh and the women placed ninth overall. Freshman Aaron Lucas (Union, N.J.) continues his strong rookie campaign, finishing first in high jump for the third time this season by clearing 1.97 meters. He also added a third-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.66 meters.

Senior Jason Staggers (Jackson, N.J.) placed fifth in the triple jump (13.16 meters) and was sixth in the long jump (6.34 meters).

In the shot put, sophomore John Badala (Scotch Plains, N.J.) and Ron Quacquarini (Green Brook, N.J.) placed fifth and seventh, respectively. Badala had a throw of 14.05 meters, while Quacquarini tossed the shot put 13.22 meters.
On the track, junior Matt Gough (Jefferson, N.J.) placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 51.76 seconds. Senior Seun Oyelaja (Lagos, Nigeria) placed sixth in the 200-meter dash (23.53).

In the relays, the 1600-meter relay team finished in 3:33.31 to place fourth and the 3200-meter relay team was fifth in 8:51.40. The 800-meter relay squad added a seventh place finish in 1:37.11.

On the women's side, senior Sherene Stephens (Orange, N.J.) placed in a pair of events, finishing fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.49) and eighth in the triple jump (9.92 meters).

Freshman Maria Moya (Matawan, N.J.) was sixth in the pole vault (2.75 mters) and senior Erin Jones (Upple Saddle River, N.J.) placed seventh (2.60 meters).

Sophomore Sarah Lyon (Clymer, N.Y.) added an eighth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 9.33 meters.

The 1600-meter relay team was fourth in 4:27.68, while the 800-meter relay squad placed seventh in 1:54.85.
