Pitman, N.J. (10/13/09) - Freshman Lauren Petrucelli (Wood-Ridge, N.J.) has been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.Petrucelli earns NJAC Rookie of the Week honors after posting 3-0 records in both singles and doubles play during three victories for the Cougars. She opened the week with a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles while teaming with Lisette LaForge for an 8-0 win at first doubles in Kean's 8-1 victory over St. Elizabeth. She then produced a 6-0, 6-0 win at second singles while teaming with LaForge for an 8-5 win at first doubles during the Cougars' 5-4 non-conference road win at Staten Island. She wrapped up the week with a 6-0, 6-1 win at second singles while teaming with LaForge for an 8-1 win at first doubles in an 8-1 NJAC road win at William Paterson for Kean's first conference victory of the season.

Petrucelli has registered an overall mark of 8-2 in second singles play on the season.
