Hands-on health education

Snyder and Weequahic High School graduates can give back to their communities

Hands-on health education
Benito Nieves

Proactive health education often promotes strategic preventative-plans; and for some students, hands-on experience in such practice is now available. Kean University assistant professor, Dr. ConsueloBonillas

The program is designed to help decrease teen pregnancy in Jersey City and Newark for the next five years. It will take place at Snyder and Weequahic

Students hired to aid the program will work closely with heath educators within the high schools; offering the opportunity to develop in-classroom experience and potential resources for future recommendations. Students will be expected to co-facilitate lessons offered to the high school students participating in the program.
