The 2012 Annual Greek Awards Banquet will be one that resonates for some years to come. In the relocated setting of the ornate Galloping Hill Inn in Union, NJ, Greek letter members of Kean University celebrated one of their most successful years yet, proving regardless the task - be it academic success, service work hours in the multi-thousands mark, or well-executed civil contention - it would be met with drive and conquer.

Heading the night's awards ceremony were reflections and remarks from administrative staff, including Alex Louis, Assistant Director of the Center for Leadership and Service and coordinator of Greek Affairs. Louis evoked Mother Teresa declamation, Do It Anyway, to both draw coloration to the effort Greek members have demonstrated and to inspire them to continue those efforts.

Peter Scholl, junior science, technology, and mathematics major and member of Nu Sigma Phi, earned the Vice President for Student Affairs Academic Achievement Award, like Dwyer, for earning top academic spot. Scholl was just one of the organization's successes that Kean Alumnus, advisor for and brother of Nu Sigma Phi, Michael Delicio

"In September of 2008 I was one of thirty-something gray-haired, balding, fat guys trying to recruit these young kids to [take interest] in our group. That semester we pledged a group of nine," beamed a proud Delicio

Other awards throughout the night included Vice President for Student Affairs Outstanding Contribution to Student Life Award, earned by Mu Sigma Upsilon for the April R.A.C.E. event on celebrating ethnicity; Greek Olympics Awards, with top trophies awarded to Theta Phi Alpha Sorority and Sigma Theta Chi Fraternity; and New Member of the Year Award, earned by Jessica Perlaza
