Participants in Research Day will be able to discuss their project and answer questions from guests. Students have the option to register for a poster presentation, oral presentation, performance, exhibit of creative work, or demonstration. "Group A" projects will consist of computer science, health sciences, mathematics, natural and physical sciences, while "Group B" projects will feature arts, business, education, humanities and social sciences. The presentations will be followed up with an awards ceremony for Undergraduate Student Researcher of the Year, Graduate Student Researcher of the Year, and a Faculty Research Mentor of the Year.
All undergraduate and graduate students interested are encouraged to participate. Likewise, any undergraduate or graduate students who are conducting original research, original data collection, or creative work under the supervision of a Kean University faculty member are eligible to present their work on campus.
To kick-off the two-day event, radio commentator and award-winning author of Fugitive Denim: A Moving Story of People and Pants in the Borderless, Rachel Louise Snyder will be giving a keynote lecture in the Schwartz Lecture Hall of the STEM Building. From there, Kean University faculty presentations and panels will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the STEM Building. The next day, Wednesday, April 30, 2014, will be the student portion of Research Days held in the STEM building as well as other venues across campus; presentations for this day begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue throughout the day until 7:00 p.m.
