All Roads Lead To Kean

Throughout the weekend of October 24, 2014, Kean’s Homecoming festivities will be in full effect. From Friday to Sunday there will be various communal events. In Harwood Arena on October 24th beginning at 6 p.m., the pep rally will kick off homecoming weekend. The pep rally is intended to incite excitement among the Kean community about what’s to come. Beginning the day on Saturday (October 25), the 5K run will take place at 8 a.m. in the Alumni Stadium. On both Friday and Saturday, The Importance of Being Earnest is being shown in Zella Fry Theatre at 8 p.m. It has been dubbed ‘a trivial comedy for serious people.’ Sunday will conclude this year’s homecoming weekend.

Many sport related events will be occurring on Saturday. At 1 p.m., Kean’s football team will be facing SUNY Cortland in the Alumni Stadium.  A few hours later at 5 p.m., in the same location, Kean will host a Field Hockey game against Richard Stockton College. Shortly after, the men’s soccer team will play against the University of Rochester at 7:30 p.m. In addition to sports, for the duration of Homecoming weekend alumni events will be taking place daily. Friday at 8 p.m., the Greek Alumni Reunion will occur in the Science Technology & Mathematics [STEM] building. At 10 a.m. on Saturday, the Alumni Association will have a welcome tent in Harwood Arena. On Sunday at 8 a.m. there will be a Men's Lacrosse Alumni Reunion and directly after that will be the class of 1964 fifty year reunion at 11 a.m., both on East Campus.

These are only a hand full of the activities occurring during homecoming weekend. There will be a student tailgate as well as activities for children including carnival games and bouncy houses. Between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. there will be street fair food available in the visitor lot. For most events during the weekend, admission is free for students and alumni; however, there will be admission fees for particular events during homecoming.
