Run into a splash of colors on Sunday, October 18, 2015, as the Nathan Weiss Graduate College hosts the second annual Nathan Weiss Memorial Cougar Color 5K.

Be prepared to have plenty of fun on that day, rain or shine, as there will be an abundance of enjoyable activities throughout the event. Those who would like to participate can register prior to the event. Students who would like to participate can get the discounted fee of $20, while Kean University faculty, staff, and alumni can receive a discounted fee of $25. Students can also set up a team of five to be eligible for a registration fee of $80. For others who wish to take part, the registration fee for one person is $30, while the fee for a team of five people is $150.

The event will begin at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m., and conclude at 4 p.m. All money will go towards scholarships for graduate students and research grants. Participants who register before Monday, October 5, 2015, can receive a Cougar Color 5K t-shirt on the day of the race.

All participants must meet in the Vaugh Eames Parking Lot, located on the main campus of Kean University, for the start of the race. Put on some comfortable running shoes as the race is three miles long. Each participant will be given a map of the race course to direct them where to go. Along with a map, individuals will receive a bag filled with other items, such as a race bib, coupons, and sunglasses to help keep away the color cornstarch from the eyes of a racer.

In addition to the 5K, Nathan Weiss Graduate School will also be hosting the Cougar Color Festival. This festival will be held in the Vaughn Eames Parking Lot and will include many activities, such as a dunk tank, face painting, a photo booth, music, food, and much more. There will also be prizes given out to those who wear the best costumes and the three best runners in the categories of: men, women, and different age groups.
