A majority of students have seen the signs that say “Take Classes; Earn Bucks" around campus, but what do they really mean? Well, it’s simple – taking classes on the weekend makes one eligible for up to $300 in Kean Bucks.

Kean University knows it’s rough to sacrifice a weekend to academics so the Office of Student Accounting wants to commend the students for the effort with rewards. For every class that begins after 3:30 p.m. on Fridays and before 12 p.m. on Saturdays, students can receive up to $50 per credit. For every class taken after noon on a Saturday, students can earn up to $100 per credit.

Kean Bucks can be used at a variety of locations throughout the multiple campuses. Such places that honor Kean Bucks are the Kean University Bookstore, Ocean County College Bookstore and Main Campus food outlets, including Starbucks and the Cougar’s Den.

For more information about the Kean Bucks program, call Financial Services at 908-737-3180 or visit www.kean.edu/offices/student-accounting/kean-bucks.

Please note: Classes that meet during weekdays and have associated labs on the weekends are not eligible for Kean Bucks. Classes that meet off campus or on-line are also not eligible. Students MUST be in active registration status and with no Student Accounting Hold on their accounts. Students receiving waivers or subsidies toward their tuition and fees bills are not eligible. Kean Bucks have no cash value, and cannot be used toward payment of bills such as tuition and fees. Kean Bucks expire one (1) year after issuance. Visit our web page for more details.
