Everyone knows the wonderful man who told the world, “I have a dream.” He changed the country for the better so many years ago, and now, he is honored. Individuals honor him in the best way they know how, by continuing his legacy—by doing good in the world.

Kean University’s Center for Leadership and Service (CLS) invites all Kean University students to participate in this year’s MLK Week of Service. This event will feature several different service events and projects held throughout the week of February 20-27, 2016, in various locations around campus.

Some of these service events will include volunteer participation for Habitat for Humanity, a way for students to give back to the community in which they live through labor. Volunteer interaction with the residents of Atria Senior Living, which will give students a look into the lives of the previous generation, sure to provide insight and a rewarding experience for all that participate.

Student participation in CLS’s event Feed the Less Fortunate will open doors between Kean University’s student body and the less fortunate in the community. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals from all walks of life to come together in a charitable way to give back. More events can be found on Cougar Link. Students will have plenty of chances to be a part of MLK Week of Service.

For more information on MLK Week of Service, its service events or to register for an event, visit the event’s page on Cougar Link, or the CLS’s Cougar Link page. The CLS staff hopes to see many kind faces willing to give back to the community in dedication to Dr. King.
