Keeping with the tradition of volunteer organizations at Kean University, the PAR FORE (Perseverance, Accountability, Resiliency, Fellowship, Opportunity, Respect, Empowerment) organization is seeking volunteers for its free summer day camp held in June. The summer program will run four days a week over the span of six weeks. PAR FORE is a non-profit organization facilitated by the Department of Occupational Therapy at Kean University.

PAR FORE’s mentorship program works to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth from economically disadvantaged areas of New Jersey by addressing the occupational, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical challenges they face. The mentorship provided will empower at-risk youths to develop a sense of self and resilience, learn self-respect and respect for others, and build moral and ethical character.

PAR FORE mentors are Kean University students that possess the leadership skills necessary to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth. Mentors are needed to work for the program this summer. To serve as a mentor applicants must fill out an application, submit two letters of recommendation, and pass a background check.

For information on this summer’s PAR FORE program, visit the PAR FORE website or the organization’s webpage on Cougar Link.
