For those who are not aware or just need a friendly reminder, students planning to graduate in 2017 are required to submit a graduation application form to the Office of the Registrar.

With the grind of the fall semester well underway and midterms and finals fast approaching, prospective graduates may accidentally overlook the deadline dates to apply for graduation.

The Office of the Registrar sent an email, which included a graduation checklist, to all undergraduate students who have earned 82 or more credits. Applications were also sent to students by mail. If a student cannot recall if they received either notice, the following contents should put their fears to rest.

The mail and emails sent to graduation candidates contained a 2017 degree application and instructions for completing the form. This information, along with a Sample Curriculum Guide sheet and Final Checklist, can also be found on the Graduation Information website.

The site also has an application for students who would like to apply by mail.

All the information needed to apply for graduation is as follows:

Sample guide sheets are provided on the website to show students how to fill one out. A student should review his or her Program Evaluation and fill out a Curriculum Guide sheet. Program Evaluations can be found on KeanWise located under the "Student Menu" tab; guide sheets can be obtained where the major department is located.

To ensure all credit requirements are fulfilled, meet with an academic advisor to review the completed guide sheet. The guide sheet must then be signed by the department chairperson for all majors, minors and collateral, and any waivers or course substitutions must be attached to the guide sheet.

Applicants must also pay the required graduation fee of $100 by mail or in person at the Student Accounting Office located on the third floor of the Administration Building. A receipt will be issued upon payment.

Return a signed copy of the degree application along with the payment receipt and a signed copy of the Curriculum Guide sheet to the Office of the Registrar, located on the first floor of the Administration Building.

For Kean Ocean students, payments can be made and applications can be submitted to the Kean Ocean Office, located in the Gateway Building at Ocean County College.

For May and August graduation applicants, the final deadline for submitting an application is January 19, 2017. In addition, all required coursework must be completed by the end of the Summer II session in order to participate in the commencement ceremonies.

Students with additional questions should contact the Office of the Registrar at 908-737-3290.
