Asian Studies and Student Organization (the full-time undergraduate student government) will host a Lunar New Year celebration on Thursday, January 26, 2017.

Lunar New Year is celebrated in many Asian countries like Thailand, China and Vietnam. The celebration will be held in the Miron Student Center (MSC) Alumni Atrium.

Although the campus celebration of the holiday will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2017, Lunar New Year does not begin until a few days later on Saturday, January 28, 2017.

"Asian Studies works with [Student Organization] and Wenzhou-Kean Student Association, so people will have a chance to welcome and make friends with our Wenzhou-Kean students at the events," comments Xurong Kong, the director of Asian Studies.

During the event students will be able to enjoy food, music, activities and more as they learn more about the Asian culture. There will also be informational tables, craft tables, bingo and more. Students will also be able to try some Asian food, like bubble tea, throughout the event. There will also be performances throughout the event, one of which will be the lion dance.

While there, do not just enjoy the free food and giveaways, but also learn about the Asian culture. At the event many Asian cultures will be represented like Thailand, China and Korea. So learn something new will sipping on some bubble tea.
