Kean University students will not have to take the long and frigid walk from the residence halls to Green Lane this semester, as Barnes and Noble has expanded its location on campus for the spring 2017 semester.

Now located in the atrium of the Miron Student Center (MSC), next to the computer lab, the Barnes and Noble satellite store has all of the essentials students need for a successful semester.

Apparel, school supplies and gifts are sold in the bookstore at this new location. Textbook purchases and rentals are still handled at the main Barnes and Noble location in the Green Lane Academic Building (GLAB).

Adrienne Middleton, book seller at the new Barnes and Noble location, provided further insight into why Kean University decided to utilize this space for another bookstore on campus.

Middleton said that the bookstore received feedback from Kean University students, who said they wanted a store that was closer and more easily accessible to them. With the residence halls being located only a few steps from the MSC, the core of student life, this space was the best option to maximize convenience for students.

The Barnes and Noble bookstore in the MSC is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
