Begin the journey to a heart healthy lifestyle with Wear Red Day in the MSC.

Wear Red Day is Friday, February 3, 2017 and is hosted by the Center for Leadership and Service (CLS). Tabling in the Miron Student Center Alumni Atrium will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 5 p.m. Each table will provide insight into different areas of heart healthy behaviors and lifestyles.

Students can choose healthy snacks to exhibit a health-conscious lifestyle. Students can also bring some healthy eating habits home with them. The student employees of the CLS have compiled their favorite healthy recipes and created a healthy recipes cookbook that students can use to get on the path to a healthy lifestyle.

Fit To Be Kean will have a table to introduce students to the classes it offers, which will be held in the Whiteman Hall lounge this semester.

Health Services will also be part of Wear Red Day. Health Services will offer various screening services to students, such as measuring their blood pressure. With a hands-on training experience, students can learn how to do CPR.

Students can also learn about natural methods of healing at a table dedicated to aroma therapy and holistic health.

One activity will be "What's in your shopping cart?" The mission of this activity is to have students choose the foods they think that are healthy and those that are not healthy, and find out which ones are truly good for the body.

It is never too late to learn healthy heart habits and with the 21/90 rule, students can be on their way to a healthy lifestyle: "It takes 21 days to create a habit. It takes 90 days to create a lifestyle."
