Singing hearts out

Joanna Kristine Ninal, Staff Writer

Ever wanted to sing karaoke at Kean University? Well here is the chance!

The entire Kean community is welcome to join a karaoke night at The Cougar's Den, Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017. This event is hosted by the Office of Student Organization and co-sponsored by Greek Senate with free admission for the Kean community. All students need for entrance is their Kean ID.

This semester is the first time the Greek Senate is co-sponsoring this event! Students with a passion to sing can join their karaoke session anytime from 8 p.m. to midnight. Not only will there be singing for fun, but there will be prizes given to the best singer. Only the top three best singers will win a prize.

First place best singer will get a $50 Visa gift card. Second place will get a $30 meal voucher for any participating food place under Kean University. Third place will get $20 for movie tickets.

The Cougar's Den is located in the Miron Student Center (MSC) and students who attend will be able to buy The Cougar's Den appetizers for half price off.

At the door, there will be a donation box, where all funds go to Kean Dance Marathon (KDM). Throughout the karaoke night, there will be a chance for a student to win a prize if their ticket number gets called. Tickets will be provided throughout each karaoke break. Prizes range from KDM shirts, notebooks, planners or tumblers.

Also, Greek Senate will be promoting its upcoming events such as Hype Day for KDM, résumé workshops, KDM kick-off, trick or tray, and KDM.

Give karaoke a chance and sing!
