Kean University always seeks to find new ways to get students excited and prepared for the new semester. One way they plan to do this is through the annual Cougar Kick-off, which is a calendar of various events throughout the month of September to help students get involved and ready for the upcoming year.

Through these events new students will learn all about Kean Pride as returning students show them what it is all about! Freshmen and transfer students will be able to get a taste of the campus culture here at Kean through the fun programming that has been planned.

Cougar Kick-off Events
Through Cougar Kick-off, there will be a wide variety of events for students to enjoy!

This year, the university is only raising the bar even higher. This year's Cougar Kick-off will include more events which will be hosted by several departments and organizations on campus. This will allow students to become more comfortable on campus and learn about different aspects of student life.

There will be a multitude of events throughout the month, but there are a few that stand out that students should be sure not to miss.

The first event, as well as one of the largest events for the Cougar Kick-off, is Kean Wave which will transpire on Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Kean Wave is sponsored by the Student Organization of Kean University. It will be held on the Miron Student Center (MSC) Patio which is a great central location to catch up with one's friends after the long summer break! This event will be full of fun activities and summer games as well as free food and giveaways.

Also on the lineup for the Cougar Kick-off is the Friday Night Football Game Kick-off, which will be on Friday, Sept. 6 at 4 p.m. It is located on the lawn between Cougar Hall and Harwood Arena, where students will be able to participate in lawn games such as volleyball. There will also be a DJ and food trucks, all to get students excited for the first football home game of the semester, which will be following the Friday Night Kickoff. This event is sponsored by MSC Operations and Event Management in conjunction with Kean Athletics.
