The Fall 2019 Career and Internship Fair was hosted by Career Services this past Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Downs Hall. Students had the opportunity to meet with over 60 potential employers, showcasing a diverse set of industries.

The room was bustling with interested applicants and employers, all eager to see where their opportunities lie. Full-time, part-time and internship positions were all available for students to apply for. Students were requested to attend the event dressed professionally and with plenty of resumes handy. Career Services also hosted preparatory workshops prior to the career fair, to assist with resume building, interview skills and making the right first impression.

Tables around the room featured interactive employers, along with free merchandise from the companies, as well as candy and other treats. Applications were also available for students to submit right away. Most employers also offered the option to write down their contact information, in order to be further immersed in the company they were interested in.

Laureen Delance, managing assistant director of internships for Career Services, mentions how the event is a great opportunity for students and alum of all ages.

"Whether you're a freshman just trying to figure out what it is to be prepared for a profession, tapping into a career field, a sophomore beginning to entertain the idea of an internship, a junior or senior trying to find an internship or employment opportunity to set up for post-graduation, we really want you to take advantage of our day," said Delance.

Career Services has a multitude of resources that students can access. Kean's Online Employment and Internship Portal is available on the College Central Network. There, students can see hundreds of employment opportunities and internships, some even available on campus. This is a free network, that ensures student-to-job compatibility, based on grade level, major, location and other factors.
