Learning Commons

In order to support Kean University students and help them transition to remote learning, the Learning Commons is offering virtual appointments via Tutortrac. We continue to offer students the same level of support and service from the comfort of their homes.

Tutoring, Writing, and Public Speaking tutors are available to work with students daily, and students can make appointments through tutortrac.kean.edu by choosing the service (tutoring, writing, or public speaking). Tutors will meet with you online the day and time of your scheduled appointment.

Check out LearningCommons.Kean.edu for more information about Academic Support Services, Blackboard Resources, Google Training, and Open Educational Resources. The Learning Commons also provides a 24/7 chat service on the website for your remote learning questions. Also, the Learning Commons will be hosting events for National Library Week. Details will be forthcoming on our site.

Here are some tips for a productive remote learning session:

  • Plan to make an appointment on tutortrac.kean.edu a few days before an exam or an assignment is due.
  • Be prepared with questions and concerns when you meet with your tutor.
  • For writing assignments, come prepared to share your assignment and your written product with your tutor.
  • Use the time productively, and if you need more time, be prepared to make an additional appointment for later in the day or the following day.

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please cancel the appointment through tutortrac or email tutoringcenter@kean.edu or writingcenter@kean.edu , so that other students have an opportunity to book an appointment.

Finally, don’t stress or become overwhelmed. We are here to assist you in any way we can and visit LearningCommons.Kean.edu.
