Election results for the Freshman Class of 2024 are now in.

The time has come and the results for the Freshman Class of 2024 Elections are in after weeks of preparation and campaigning.

Student Organization Freshman Class of 2024 President Jazaan Walsh is joined by Vice President Syedah Younis, Treasurer Devone Johnson, Secretary Ganesh Ramcharran and seven class senators.

Freshman Class President:

  • Jazaan Walsh - 67 votes, 27.8%
  • Luckerlme Milien - 59 votes, 24.48%
  • Siya Arora - 51 votes, 21.16%
  • Tayahra Griffin - 36 votes, 14.93%
  • Martiah Fenelon - 21 votes, 8.71%
  • Abstain - 7 votes, 2.9%

Freshman Class Vice President:

  • Syedah Younis - 124 votes, 51.45%
  • David Graham - 70 votes, 29.04%
  • Lesley Avila - 45 votes, 18.67%
  • Abstain - 2 votes, 0.82%

Freshman Class Treasurer:

  • Devone Johnson - 228 votes, 94.6%
  • Abstain - 13 votes, 5.39%

Freshman Class Secretary:

  • Ganesh Ramcharran - 107 votes, 44.39%
  • Amber Afzal - 81 votes, 33.6%
  • Benita Julian Robert Raj - 39 votes, 16.18%

Khali Raymond is a junior pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in English with a Writing Option. He graduated from Berkeley College - Newark with his Associate’s in Business Administration in August 2019. Joining the staff in September 2019, he works as a staff writer for The Cougar’s Byte. Khali has a lengthy resume with five years of professional experience in creative writing and publishing. He has written for editorials such as The Obama Foundation, Prudential, and PTSDJournal. Khali is also a performance poet and emcee. Khali plans to proceed with his plans of becoming a bestselling author, critically acclaimed poet and a multi-platinum selling artist after attaining his degree from Kean University.
