Student Organization of Kean University is a student group that promotes scholarly and social advancement among the Kean student body and acts as a voice for undergraduate students throughout the university's events and culture.

Since the transition to remote learning and events in the spring, Student Organization has continued its objectives through new online spaces, providing avenues to connect students craving the feeling of learning and socializing on campus and with their peers. The organization continues that effort throughout the fall, hosting all manners of events through online spaces, helping Kean culture thrive from a distance.

Student Organization's upcoming fall events are scheduled as follows:

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, Student Organization will host a pair of events for National Hair Day, a celebration for keeping hair healthy and stylish. First, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., is Straight from the Root: Monat Hair Products, a discussion featuring a Kean alumnus on hair products and their use, including samples and consultation. It will be followed by Straight from the Root: PsychoHairapy, a talk with Dr. Afiya Mbilishaka on the fascinating ways hair intertwines with mental health through culture, emotions and more.

Student Organization will also continue to host a series of Jackbox games, trivia and joke-writing style games via smartphone and computer, that help keep students' socializing interactive and exciting. These sessions take place on Thursdays at 8 p.m. and include the Jackbox games "Guesspionage" on Oct. 15 and Nov. 12; "Trivia Murder Party" on Oct. 22 and Nov. 19; "Fibbage" on Oct. 29; and "Quiplash" on Nov. 5.

For Future Leaders of Kean Week, from Monday, Oct. 19 to Friday, Oct. 23, the organization will host a series of discussions aimed at each area of study to answer career and academia questions for students in each respective field. Talks will take place from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. and must be RSVP'd to:

On Thursday, Nov. 5 from 7 to 8 p.m., Student Organization will host Fight Procrastination Day!, a unique gathering and discussion that offers students tips for combatting the tendency to delay overwhelming work and studies - a timely effort halfway between midterm and final exams during an already stressful semester.

Student Organization will also hold its upcoming executive board meetings every other Friday at 1:00 p.m. and its senate meetings the same Fridays at 3:30 p.m.
