Cougar Link is a great resource for the Kean Community to utilize for various reasons. One of the main aspects of Cougar Link is that it lists all of the upcoming remote and in-person events hosted by various campus organizations and departments. This tool is a great way to get involved and stay connected, especially while being remote.

It is vital for students to remember the importance of being involved and making connections through different organizations while working towards their degree. While academics are essential to the college experience, one must remember the other aspects of the college experience, such as involvement. Through Cougar Link, one can still work to branch out and get involved while being remote.

To first get to Cougar Link, one can go to the main Kean website and click “Quicklinks” drop down menu in the top right corner. Here, Cougar Link as well as other essential links are listed. When on Cougar Link, be sure to sign in by clicking the button in the top right corner of the webpage and use your Kean credentials.

To view the events, simply click the ‘Events” tab. Here, one can view all of the upcoming events and even the past events. There are also filters such as selecting a particular date, theme, category and perks. There is even an option to filter to online events only.

There are many remote events coming up that students should keep in mind. For example, Meet the Greeks is being hosted by the Greek Senate on Weds. Jan. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. Here, representatives from the greek letter organizations on campus come to share information about their organizations for those who may be interested.

Students Health Services and The Yoga Club of Kean University and Student Health Services are also hosting upcoming yoga events. This could be great for students that may be feeling overwhelmed with the start of the semester or just need time for themselves. They are hosting a Yoga Session on Weds. Jan. 27 at 3:30 p.m. and Yoga for the Heart on Fri. Feb. 12 at 11 a.m.

Additionally, the Student Occupational Therapy Association is hosting a Valentine’s Day themed Virtual Baking Class. This is an opportunity to learn something new and connect with one's peers.

The Student Involvement and Employment Fair is also a great opportunity to get involved on campus and get to know the different aspects of student life at Kean. It is being held on Weds. Feb. 3, and there are two sessions, the Departments and Offices portion at 11 a.m. and the Student Groups and Organizations portion at 3:00 p.m.

There are also many general body meetings for various clubs transpiring recently. For example, Kean University PRISM, the Hallyu Club, Helping Younger Hands, the Biology Club, CRU at Kean University, Kean Theatre Council, Active Minds and so many more organizations are hosting meetings for students to attend. Be sure to visit their separate Cougar Link pages for the dates and times of their meetings.

There are many other events transpiring in the near future to fit whatever one is looking for, whether it be to interact with their peers, learn about a new topic, enhance their professional endeavors, give back to the community and more. Be sure to look through Cougar Link at the various events and organizations to find just what you’re looking for.
