Dress for Success this Graduation Season
As long as seniors stay on top of their tasks for graduation, the end of the semester will be very smooth for the Class of 2019!
Jaclyn Lukas, Staff Writer

One of the most important parts of graduation is what a student will wear as they cross the stage into their life moving forward. A beautiful dress, heels, pressed suit, and dress shoes are only half of the attire graduates will be sporting on one of the most important days of their lives. The graduation regalia that worn over-top of the primed outfits, are a staple of this momentous occasion.

The Commencement 2021 page on the Kean webpage holds all of the information on ordering graduation regalia and other graduation items. The ordering for regalia is now open and anyone planning on participating in commencement ceremonies must wear the proper graduation regalia.

Once an order is placed, the full regalia package will be shipped prior to commencement. This will include a cap, gown, tassel, and a comparative zipper pull and stole.

The last day to order graduation regalia is March 26.

Director of Conference and Event Services, Valerie Winslow, said “all commencement regalia will be delivered, using a postal service, to students. For safety precautions, students will not be authorized to come to campus to pick up regalia.”

Another memorable part of graduation is senior portraits which allows students to capture their senior year forever. Senior portraits are taking place on the Union Campus until Thursday, April 1. To see available times/dates visit www.ouryear.com enter school code 518 or call 1-800-OUR-YEAR (687-9327) during normal business hours.

When scheduling an appointment, complete information on how to prepare for the portrait sitting will be provided. Students should be aware that they can use these portraits for professional networking and job search.

Class rings are something students will want to sport or keep as a memento along with their other graduation regalia items. For guaranteed graduation delivery, students can order their class ring up until March 28. Students can save up to $200 off the purchase of their ring and as a limited offer, choose a free Kendra Scott necklace to go with their order.

Questions on different sizes, colors, metal or finger sizes? Students can sign up for personalized one on one ring consultation appointments. Schedule appointments under the class ring section of the Kean Commencement 2021 page.

Dates Include:

  • Wednesday, March 24, 2-5 p.m.

  • Thursday, April 8, 5-8 p.m.

Who could forget the ultimate memory of a senior yearbook! Students are not going to want to miss capturing the memories of their 2020-21 experience at Kean University. The limited edition collection of stories from the year are available for order under the Yearbook section of the Kean Commencement page. Something students can have for years to come to share with friends and family.
