One of the many exciting experiences that come along with going to college is getting to be on one’s own and live on campus. Living on campus provides students with easy access to all that their school has to offer, while having a front row seat to their education. Being on campus also creates a bridge for students to meet new people and make long-lasting friendships during their time at school.

There are a few new changes happening for housing at Kean becoming effective during the Spring 2022 semester. Some of these changes include:

  1. Improved Guest Visitation

  2. Overnight Guest Policy

  3. ACCESS tutoring is back

Residential Student Services will allow resident students to host guests at any time, replacing the current 12-10 p.m. limited hours that are currently in place. For guests to be permitted into the resident halls, they must provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test at least 24 hours before arriving on campus. PCR tests must be completed within three days of visiting, rapid tests will not be accepted. Masks must be worn by everyone in all common spaces.

Along with the removal of hour restriction on guests, students will once again be able to host visitors overnight. Students will be allowed a total of 10 overnight guests per semester and all overnight guests must be approved by all roommates and suitmates. Overnight guest forms can be found in the residence hall community center of students dorm buildings.

Need extra help studying for exams, homework or just struggling with a class? Well, ACCESS tutoring is back. ACCESS tutoring provides academic support for students living on campus from the comfort and convenience of the residence hall. Students can find tutoring available in writing, math, science and English.

Only students who have been admitted to Kean University can apply for housing. Along with an acceptance packet, students will receive a Kean login and password to access the university’s registration system at Keanwise

Housing Application Instructions are as follows:

  • First, acces the Housing Portal, by clicking HERE

  • Login using Kean credentials (The username and password is the same as students Kean email credentials)

  • Select “Housing Applications and Requests”

  • Select “2021-2022” to begin the housing application

All students are required to pay a non-refundable $125 application fee for housing. When completing the application, students will be prompted to submit payment. This payment must be submitted in order to complete one's housing application. Students will also need to contact the office of Accessibility and Services and submit a Medical Verification Form.

Housing is an amazing experience that all students should have once in their college career, to see how they enjoy it and the benefits they can get from it. There are many amazing facilities and activities for students to explore and engage in, that will enhance their Kean experience.
