In October, many participate in Halloween activities throughout the month. Some people can be found feasting on candy, baking fall treats, visiting scary attractions, or even dressing up. With so many fun and spooky ideas, Kean students are excited to start their fun Halloween traditions and festivities.

During this Halloween season, many enjoy watching films based on the holiday. Some classic favorites among the Kean community are "Halloweentown", "Hocus Pocus", and "Halloween."

“I love watching scary movies during Halloween. My favorite movie is probably Hocus Pocus,” Student Amelie Cruz said.

Some people like to partake in spooky activities. In the past, students have participated in different events such as spooky mazes, haunted houses, and even trick or treating.

“I know I’m too old to trick or treat, but I love taking my little siblings out trick or treating," said Student Jessly Gomez. "I also like doing Mischief Night and pumpkin picking."

For Halloween, many love to dress up in different costumes. This year, students plan to keep up with this tradition while looking back at some of their previous choices.

“My best Halloween costume was Bob Ross," said Gomez. " I also have about three Halloween costumes planned this year. I’m gonna be Dora, then Paul Blart the mall cop, and I also plan on doing a Spice Girls Halloween costume.”

"I think my costume this year is going to be my best Halloween costume. I'm dressing up as Clawdeen Wolf from Monster High," said Destiny Wise.

Gomez and Wise are not the only ones dressing up for Halloween. Student Malcom Gereer is wearing a costume, but this year he has to make a decision for what to wear.

"I was Ghostface one Halloween so that was my best costume. This year I plan on being either a witch or a wizard," said Gereer.

Besides dressing up, Kean students have many plans for this year's Halloween. Some are deciding to do outdoor activities while others are staying in during this spooky season.

“I enjoy going to Fright Fest or like those spooky hayrides. [I] also [enjoy] watching scary movies and listening to scary stories," Gereer said.

“Sitting around with my friends in costumes having a good time is a fun way for me to kick off Halloween," said Wise.

This year it's clear that Kean students will be having fun during this year's spooky and exciting Halloween.
