Kean University's annual Homecoming events were held from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1. The events started with a comedy show and ended with the big Homecoming game. It was a great opportunity to bring the students, alumni, and faculty together. Let the festivites begin!

On Sept. 28 from 8 to 11 p.m., students gathered in Wilkins Theatre for a comedy show featuring a very special guest: Gabriel Iglesias, also known as Fluffy!

The tickets were a steal for only $10 per Kean student on Cougar Link. The show was completely sold out by students who wanted to spend the night laughing away.

Iglesias had two opening acts consisting of Famous Actor and Comedian Martin Moreno and Comedian G Reilly.

The lines to get in were wrapped around Wilkins as students' anticipation grew more and more by the second. Some even arrived at 6:30 p.m. when doors opened at 8 p.m. As people were seated, the room was filled with the audience chanting “FLUFFY, FLUFFY, FLUFFY!”

Once Iglesias came out, the room filled with excitement and cheers. His jokes catered to all different types of students and there was not a moment where a laugh was not shared.

“Kean University is the first college I have visited since the pandemic,” said Iglesias. When he said that, students got up and cheered. How lucky is Kean University for being Comedic Legend Gabriel Iglesias's first college show since the pandemic.

On Sept. 29 in Down’s Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., students gathered for the Homecoming Dance. The dance was an opportunity for students to dance the night away.

The theme of the dance was Neon Party. The room was completely blacked out and students came in wearing either bright neon colors or all black clothing.

As a fun gift, students were given glow in the dark bracelets, necklaces, and balloons. Student Government sponsored the event and gave away great prizes every hour including gift cards, hoverboards, and much more.

The night was enjoyed by many, varying from freshman to seniors. Everyone there had a good time relishing in all of the homecoming activities that Kean had prepared for them.

The comedy show and homecoming dance were only the beginning of all the amazing homecoming activities!
