Kean ESports is a fun and virtual way of getting involved on campus. Like any other athletics team at Kean, ESports holds games and tournaments competing against other schools. Hoping to connect to more students, Kean ESports is hosting the All Hallows’ Gala, an event open to all students.

Last year, Kean ESports hosted a costume contest for Halloween. As fun as that was, they wanted to do something bigger for their fellow gamers and interested students. The members of ESports wanted to celebrate Halloween with their peers by playing games, having a costume contest, dancing, eating and more as a community.

"It’s honestly just so fun to meet people who enjoy the same things I do and would love for people to find their crowd, which I think students can find at this event," said Kean ESports President Victoria Cardieri.

The gala will be held on Thursday, October 27 from 6:30 - 9:15 p.m., in the Miron Student Center, Room 226. While there is a costume contest, student don't have to dress up to attend. However, to be a part of the competition, one must join the ESports discord which can be found in their instagram bio, @keanesportsclub

Students who attend the gala are more than welcome to join the ESports team. Cardieri shares the requirements for all who are interested.

“To join the Esports club, all you have to do is join our discord which you can find in our instagram bio, @keanesportsclub, and attend one general body meeting and one event," said Cardieri.

Alex Garcia was the original founder of Kean ESports. After she transferred last year, Cardieri and a group of students took over and made it a place for lovers of video games to come together. The All Hallows’ Gala will be their first big event for the semester and the team is excited to share what they love about ESports.

“My favorite thing about ESports is seeing the connections made between the students," said Cardieri. "I found my best friends and my boyfriend from the Kean Esports Club, but I also love seeing that happen to other people."

This event is sure to get students involved in gaming and stepping out of their comfort zones.

Be sure to enjoy a spooky, fun-filled night with ESports, Cougars!
