Research Days are a great opportunity for students and faculty alike to spotlight their work and gain proper recognition. With this year’s celebration happening between Monday, April 24 and Wednesday, April 26, It’s important for students to know the deadlines so that they can participate in this year's celebration.

“Research days began with about 92 students and we have more than tripled our numbers to about 1400 participants,” said Karla Gomes, coordinator of Research Days and graduate assistant of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.

This experience aims to recognize the creative work and research of the Kean community. As an annual celebration, students from across the campus come together to learn about the research conducted at the university. For this year's hybrid event, students can participate by displaying their research through virtual or in-person presentations.

“You can opt for an oral presentation which is prerecorded. These are held virtually and your videos are uploaded to the research days website for display,” said Gomes. “There are also poster presentations which are held in-person only. This means that your posters are uploaded to our website for digital display, but presenters must present in-person.”

In order to present, students must submit their registrations and submissions before the Research Days deadlines. While the deadline for faculty registration closed on Sunday, January 15, there are still more important deadlines for the upcoming 2023 Research Days:

  • Sunday, February 12 - Student Registration Closes
  • Saturday, March 25 - Poster File Submission Deadline
  • Saturday, March 25 - Oral Presentation Submission Deadline

“We ask you guys to plan ahead of registration,” said Gomes. “Know who your co-presenters are, know who your faculty advisor is. This allows you to not have any problems while you are registering.”

Prospective students participating in Research Days can register on the Kean Research Days website. For any additional information, participants are encouraged to visit the Kean University website or contact the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at researchdays@kean.edu.
