On Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, Kean University students volunteered at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey, located in Hillside, to kick-off National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
On Thursday, Nov. 29, the Kean University Greek Senate and Love Your Melon Campus Crew hosted the Kean Dance Marathon (KDM) Winter Wonderland Gala. This event celebrated the Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ and recognized the $175,000 raised for the hospital over the past five years due to Kean Dance Marathon.
On Friday, Nov. 30 and Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, Kean University volunteers assisted the Township of Union Recreation Department with their 2nd Annual Holiday Celebration Weekend. Our volunteers assisted by running games and an artificial ice skating rink for members of the community.
Student Government hosted Warm Hands for the Homeless, an event that emphasized the importance of individuals having basic needs met from hygiene to nourishment, Friday, Nov. 16.
Kean University students spent their Saturday giving back to the community through Habitat for Humanity Nov. 17, 2018, in Dover, NJ, to help build a house for a family.
On Sunday, Oct. 22, 2018, Kean University students participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk of Central New Jersey in Johnson Park, located in Piscataway, NJ. Collectively, the Kean University community raised more than $7,000 for Making Strides and the American Cancer Society during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2018.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, Kean University hosted Homecoming 2018. This year's theme was "Return of The Cougars", influenced by Star Wars. Homecoming began with a tailgate picnic and carnival with food and games. At 1 p.m., the Kean Cougars football team played The College of New Jersey Lions in Kean Alumni Stadium.
On Friday, Oct. 19, the Office of Student Government hosted the 2018 Pep Rally in Harwood Arena. The Pep Rally celebrated Kean's sports teams and games and giveaways.
