On Saturday April 29, 2017, the 31st Annual African Heritage Graduation Ceremony (AFGH) was held in Wilkins Theatre. Guests were allowed in the theatre at 3:30 p.m. where the auditorium was adorned with African culture from the clothing to the music.

Early on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 a breakfast was held for the students who went above and beyond with their community service at Kean University. Students who completed 75 to over 100 hours were honored at the breakfast, receiving awards for their accomplishments.

On Monday, April 24, the area outside the clock tower and MSC was overrun by chefs from around the world. Organized by Student Government, Flavor Fest offered Kean students a chance to try food from all around the world. There were stations from India, Italy, Africa, Mexico, China, and a special stand for Ben and Jerry's. With a wristband you were allowed to enter a raffle, get a drink, and have access to the international buffet.

On Monday, April 24, 2017, the annual Who's Who Awards took place in the new Kean North Avenue Academic Building (NAAB). The dinner celebrated 77 of Kean University's students who excelled academically and through involvement and community service.
