College students are often caught up with busy schedules – filled with classes, papers, exams, and work. As a result, their health is often last on their list of priorities. In the season where colds and the flu are most prominent, it is very important that students take care of themselves to prevent colds and other sicknesses.
The Liberty Hall Museum, located across the street on Morris Avenue, is a historical landmark that is now owned by Kean University. It was once the home of William Livingston, the New Jersey's first elected governor. It chronicles more than chronicling more than 200 years of American history on the property alone. For each holiday and special occasion, Liberty Hall always finds a way to join in on the festivities. Each year, Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University celebrates Valentine's Day with special events during the month of February. Visitors can take their significant others to the historic Victorian mansion to view the collection of artifacts, go on a tour of the beautiful property, or attend a tea party, among other events.

Sunday, November 13, 2011, the Kean University Scholarship Recognition Ceremony took place in the Harwood Arena, honoring student scholars and the donors that continue to help students achieve their higher education ambitions. Students who received scholarships from the Kean University Foundation were able to meet the person or group that provided monetary donations for their education.

Four years ago, Kean University expanded its education and campus to south Jersey in Toms River. A partnership was established between Kean and Ocean County College (OCC).The partnership between OCC and Kean allows students from Ocean County to pursue their bachelors or masters degree while taking classes taught by Kean faculty right on the Toms River campus. Kean Ocean also provides a closer location for southern New Jersey residents and the opportunity to expand the Kean community.

Most students need financial assistance pursuing their education, because of their tuition bills and costly expenses. From meal plans to books to living expenses, students struggle with money, and could use some support. In the spring, the Kean University Foundation offers scholarships, from university donors, for a variety of students including: part-time, full-time, and graduate students. Awards are also offered involving a variety of majors, year levels, and incomes. The Kean University Foundation awards approximately 300 scholarships per academic school year, but all students do not receive a scholarship because of the limited amount.
On Wednesday, October 12th, 2011, Michelle Gadsden-Williams, a successful 1990 graduate of Kean University, participated in the 2011 Issues Lecture Series. Gadsden-Williams graduated with a communication and marketing degree in hopes of one day becoming a thriving executive in a company. She was once a student of Dr. Bailey Baker and Dr. Christopher Lynch, both of the communications department. Gadsden-Williams stated "I feel embedded to Kean University. I came to speak at Kean today because I feel obliged to help today's students find their true passion."

When students research graduate school programs, they may discover that the program of their choice allows them to either take the Graduate Record Exam [GRE] or the Miller Analogies Test [MAT].
