With the end of the spring semester just around the corner, The Student Organization (Student Org) of Kean University have arranged multiple field trips for their fellow students.

Student Org is dedicated to serving the full-time undergraduate students at Kean University, which often involves creating a fun and active environment on campus. Just this past spring, they have accomplished multiple successful programs such as Unity Week, Relay for Life, The Chinese Lantern Festival, Cougars Gone Wild, and many others. These last few weeks are bound to be action packed:

Medieval Times (Saturday, April 25, 2015) – Take a trip to the land of knights and kings! Enjoy dinner and a jousting competition inside an authentic castle for only $10. The bus will leave promptly at 3:30 p.m. from Wilkins Theater. Only one ticket per Kean ID.

A Tour of Harlem (Friday, May 1, 2015) – Delve into the cultural epicenter that is the Harlem borough of New York City. On this trip, students will visit the Apollo Theater, a recording studio, take a hip-hop dancing class, and enjoy a delicious lunch of soul food all for $10. The bus will be leaving bright and early at 9 a.m. from Wilkins Theater.

Visit The Turtle Back Zoo (Saturday, May 2, 2015) – Don’t have time to go into NYC to visit the animal kingdom? No problem! One of New Jersey’s best kept secrets is The Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange. Enjoy a day of fun at the zoo, free admission and t-shirts included. Each Kean ID is good for 4 free tickets and students are encouraged to bring their friends and family of all ages. Interested students can sign up in University Center (UC) room 313.

Subway Tours (To Be Announced) – It is super easy to get lost in New York City, especially when trying to navigate the biggest subway system in the world. On this trip, students will visit multiple hot spots around Manhattan and learn how to get there without issue. More details to come.

For all trips, students must fill out the SAPA form available on Cougar Link and have it on their person when purchasing tickets. For more information about any upcoming events, contact Student Org at stuorg@kean.edu
