On Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, 2015, Alan Cumming is coming to Kean University to perform in the style of cabaret.

Cumming is a Tony Award-winning celebrity who is widely known for playing the blunt and rude yet lovable character Eli Gold on the popular Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) television seriesThe Good Wife.

Cumming is not only an actor but he is also a writer, producer, and director. He has performed on and off the screen and in multiple plays, cabarets, and musicals such asHamlet,Macbeth, and in the television film version of Annie.

Cumming will be performing the cabaretAlan Cumming Sings Sappy Songs. The show has received many raving reviews, including one fromThe New York Times and another fromThe Guardian.

In this cabaret, Cumming sings songs written by artists like Miley Cyrus, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, and Avril Lavigne.,Cumming tells personal stories of himself, such as the removing of a tattoo of an ex-lover’s name. As noted in the title, this cabaret isn’t as jolly as most are, so bring a tissue or two.

Tickets are currently being sold online at theKean Stage website and in person at the Enlow Recital Hall box office, located in the lobby of Enlow Hall. The box office opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 3 p.m. on Monday and Friday, while on Tuesday and Thursday the box office opens from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets range from $55 to $75, depending on the desired seating.
