To start off the 2015-2016 academic year the student government and the staff of the Miron Student Center (MSC) is hosting the event Cougar Kickoff on Thursday, September 3, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The Cougar Kickoff will be held on the patio outside of the MSC.

“Students who attend the Cougar Kickoff should expect to ‘Rock out with Kean’ [and to] be submerged in a fun and upbeat environment,” comments Alexa Cantres, managing assistant director at the student government office. “This event welcomes past students back to school and shows our incoming students how Kean [University] kicks off a semester; we want them to know who we are and make them feel excited about attending Kean [Univeristy].”

At this event, Cantras comments that there will be a variety of snacks, such as cotton candy, pretzels, and smoothies and plenty of activities to do, like spray painting t-shirts and plenty of giveaways. Students will also be able to enjoy taking photos in a photo booth. Cougar Kickoff will be the gateway of information for students to learn about different organizations, such as Relay for Life, Student Organization, and Campus Life Activities for Student Success (C.L.A.S.S.).

All in all students should know that Kean University isn’t just about giving the best education to its students, but also allowing students to participate in great events like Cougar Kickoff. So end the summer and begin the new academic year with a bang.
