On Sunday, October 4, 2015, people of all ages came together at Wilkins Theatre to enjoy the Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Dance Rock the Ballet performance. It was a great performance and one that many will agree they must see again.

The night started off with an exciting and electrifying number as one by one the performers entered the stage and danced to the Black Eyed Peas song I Gotta Feeling. The first act spoke to the viewers not just through the songs that were chosen but through the dancing. One attendee comments that she loved the love story between the two main dancers, Adrienne Canterna and Blake Zelesnikar, because “it showed what love really is.” The first act featured songs like Crash Into Me by Dave Matthews Band, Fallin’ by Alica Keys and American Woman by Lenny Kravitz.

“It was amazing,” an attendee comments after the first act, “I can’t wait for the second act…my mind has been blown by what the guys [and girl] have done on that stage. It is a definite must-see.” Throughout the first act people couldn’t keep their eyes off the stage as each performer didn’t just frolic across the stage, but moved with elegance and confidence as some did crazy flips and stretches. “My favorite dance that I have to choose within the first act has to be…well…all of them,” continues the attendee, “I just couldn’t keep my eyes off of the stage during each performance. They are just...amazing!”

The second act had more upbeat songs like Bad by Michael Jackson and We Will Rock You by Queen. The second act’s main focus wasn’t on the love connection between the male and female dancer, but instead focused more on the male dancers themselves. From time to time, though, the love story did pop up here and there. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances to the songs White Walls by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Shot Me Down by David Guetta featuring Skylar Grey, and especially the performance that went along with the song Body Language by Queen.

At the end of act two a standing ovation was given…twice. At first the audience was fooled into thinking that the show was over when in fact there were three performances left. Either way the Bad Boys of Dance still deserved both ovations, because, as attendee Brooke Picciore says, “it made me feel things I didn’t know how to feel.”

This performance was choreographed by Canterna, directed by Rasta Thomas and produced by Cindy Sibislky. The featured dancers were Blake Zelsnikar, Tyler Stewart, Ryan Redmound, Kyle Lucia, Robbie Nicholson and Canterna.
