On the night of Thursday, October 22, 2015, the homecoming weekend began with a stunning performance by one of the most popular Hispanic singers today. Wilkins theatre began to fill up at around 8:30 p.m. for the concert that began at 9 p.m. and man was the crowd already hipped for the concert. People’s eyes were starving to get more than a glimpse of the one and only Prince Royce.

Once Royce came on stage, the crowd went wild. His fans began to scream as he walked onto the stage in an all-black outfit: black jacket, shirt, jeans and shoes. The first song, ‘Stuck On A Feeling,’ gets everyone up from their seat and singing along. “That’s one of my favorite songs,” comments attendee Jose N., “he performed it well, but then again he performed well throughout the night.”

“My favorite part has to be…well all of it,” comments attendee Jazmine C. Throughout the concert the screaming did not stop one bit. As a matter of fact after the performance of the first song many of the attendees ran towards the stage to get a better view of Royce himself. They got so close to him that some fans were able to shake hands with the artist.

“I wish I was the girl that was able to sit on stage with him,” comments attendee Sofia. That is right a lucky attendee was able to sit on stage with Prince Royce while he sang the song ‘Lucky One’ to her. He even gave her a rose and danced with her. This attendee had a once in a life time experience that any girl fan of Royce wanted to have.

Some of the songs Royce performed include English spoken songs such as ‘Double Vision,’ and ‘Stand By Me,’ and Spanish spoken songs such as ‘Corazon Sin Cara’ and ‘Incondicional’. Carlos S., another attendee comments at the end of the concert, “it was short but I enjoyed every minute of it. You know, you never get to see an artist like him every so often and when you do, you have to take the chance and hold every memory of it in your brain.”

All in all the students and other attendees had a great night. Royce did a fabulous job performing and getting the Kean University student’s pumped for the rest of the homecoming weekend. Also, thanks to Student Organization for getting an amazing artist to perform at Kean University and we can’t wait to see who performs next year.
