On Sunday, November 1, 2015, one of New Jersey’s prestigious string orchestras, Arco Ensemble, will perform at Enlow Recital Hall. Arco Ensemble will be under the direction of Joseph Colaneri, an internationally acclaimed director.

Arco Ensemble was founded in January of 2006 by violinist Victoria Stewart, although their first performance wasn’t until June of 2007. They have had eight successful seasons, and this will be there fifth season having a concert performance at Kean University. In the past, the ensemble has performed with violinist soloists such as Elmar Oliveira and now will perform with harpist André Tarantiles.

Director Colaneri has been part of the Metropolitan Opera conducting roster for the past 15 seasons and has directed many United States and international orchestra ensembles. Colnaeri is also a professor at Mannes College the New School for Music. He was a conductor for the New York City Opera and is currently the director for The Glimmerglass Festival.  

The performance will start at 3 p.m. and will last about an hour, but don’t leave after the last round of applause as there will be light refreshments with the artists after the show.
