What are the plans for Saturday night? Is the calendar left completely open? If so, come out and experience a night of live Indian music and dance performances.

The highly anticipated evening of Spirit of India is without question going to be a colorful and extraordinary evening for all. The event is set to take place on Saturday, November 7, 2015, in the Wilkins Theatre at 7:30 p.m. with performances made by Artistic Director Rahis Bharti; who is one of India’s greatest musical figures, the Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India. It’s an opportunity that members of the Kean community surely do not want to miss.

Since music and dancing go hand in hand, the show will have some very exciting features. The Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers of India are a group of seventeen professional artists, including acoustic musicians, singers, dancers, acrobats, a brass band and a fire eater. Indian and Western instruments like bass drums, side drums, trombone, tabla, dholak, harmonium and clarinet will all be heard at this remarkable show.

“With significant Indian populations in Union, Middlesex, Essex and Hudson counties, we saw an opportunity to present a program that might appeal to and celebrate the vibrant culture of some of our closest neighbors,” said Heather Kelley, who is Managing Assistant Director of Audience Services for Kean’s Theatre. “Kean Stage is committed to presenting world-class entertainment that appeals not only to the Kean University family, but to the community at large.”
