Throughout the semester, just like every other Kean University athletic team, the Kean University dance team, otherwise known as Kean Dance Theatre or KDT, has been working hard to put on a fabulous end-of-the-semester show.

On Thursday, December 3, 2015, KDT will put on stage the final product of what they have been working on the entire semester, the Kean Dance Theatre Fall Showcase. The show, which is free for all, will be held in Wilkins Theatre and will begin at 7 p.m.

This year’s theme for the fall showcase is “Music Videos.” The focus of the theme will be on popular artists and popular music videos. Anyone who attends will see the show consisting of different styles such as jazz, hip-hop, contemporary and tap with each performance being choreographed by a member of KDT.

There will be two soloists, Nadia Bangura, a junior who will be doing a hip-hop piece, and Lucero Lopez, a freshman who will be doing two pieces a contemporary and tap piece.

KDT has been a part of Kean University for over thirty years and was founded by the late William Chaison, a former Kean University professor, as well as a choreographer and a dancer. He founded KDT in the year of 1979.

If anyone is interested in joining KDT, they meet every Monday and Thursday in the D’Angola Gym room 168 at 3:20 p.m. to 4:20 p.m.
